Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that comes on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday kicks off the season of charitable giving when many focus on their holiday and end of year giving. Since its founding in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a global movement that celebrates and supports giving to non-profit organizations like ours.
In the last twelve months, Karamu, in partnership with the hundreds of small business childcare centers and residential childcare homes that we sponsor, served more than 4.7 million nutritious meals to over 86,000 children in our community. Karamu also promotes the childcare community through free childcare conferences, grants designed to help childcare providers meet licensing standards, childcare provider counseling, and we provide childcare referrals to help parents find quality care while enabling childcare owners and operators to grow their small businesses.
